Purulia district is one of the district of West Bengal state
in Estern India. Purulia is a very small rural area. Most of
the areas are village in this district and that is why most of the population

RIVERS AND LAKE:
In Purulia several rivers
flow across the area and they are small but amazing. Rural people are depended
on those rivers and lake for cultivation. Among these kangsabati(Kasai), Silabati(silai), Kumari,Subarnarekha,
Dwarakeswar, and Damodar are the important ones. Although there are several
rivers flows across the district(Purulia), 50% of the water run off due to the
undulated topography. You could also find several Small dams like Murguma,
Burda, Pardi, Gopalpur, which are mainly used for irrigation of agriculture
field on which they are depended. Saheb Bandh is one of the most popular ,famous and beautiful waterbodies of
Purulia. It is surrounded with gurden and foot way. And there is also a
beautiful point with boat and baby toy so that people could enjoy there, food
facility is also available. It is located in the heart of the purulia town. It
is a shelter of the migratory birds which comes from Bangladesh, Burma, Sindh, and
Baluchistan during December to March.Although these rivers are not flowing for
the whole year because Purulia is a dry area. During summer season these rivers
become completely dry but in the rainy season it flows.
